Cobalt Technology - Notice history

The outage has been resolved. Another fiber cut happened in the DFW area and our failover system did not take affect immediately like it was supposed to. We have remedied the situation and the entire network is back up and running and full capacity.

The source of the issue has been located and resolved. One of our many upstream providers lost connection to our datacenter early this morning. Our system was running through other upstream providers, but a lot of traffic was still trying to navigate through the upstream connection that was having issues.
The connection has been restored and traffic is flowing to all destinations now.

We just resolved the issue! We have multiple major upstream providers that we connect with for access to the internet. This fiber cut in DFW managed to affect both links, but we were just able to get our backup link up and working. The main fiber cut is still being repaired, but our backup service has sufficient capacity for the entire network. Once the fiber cut is resolved in DFW, our system will automatically switch back over to it without customers noticing.

A detailed email will be sent out in the next day to explain the finer details of what occurred and how we plan to mitigate future issues like this.

We have confirmed that it is a major fiber cut affecting all of North Texas. Our backup link was also affected, so we are working with the upstream providers to find out when the service will be restored.

We got our Holliday network running on a secondary connection to the rest of our Wichita Falls network. The new redundancy will now give an additional path to the internet for our entire network. Once the main fiber connection comes back up, our system will automatically switch back over without interruption.
