Extended Power Outage in Iowa Park

    The site is running on generator power now. Driving to the site I saw a dozens of power poles snapped in half and significant storm damage to buildings and trees. I expect it's going to be quite some time before power is restored to the area, so I will keep topping off the generator with fuel until power is restored.

    Utility power went out yesterday when the storms rolled through. Our towers have robust battery backups, but the power has been out long enough that the battery backups have been fully drained. Oncor is expecting power to be restored around 9 AM, so we are looking into bringing a generator to get service back up while Oncor continues to work.

    We have brought roughly half of our Iowa Park City Limits customers back online. We ran into issues with some of our replacement equipment malfunctioning, so we are traveling to get more tonight and will have our crew back at the tower first thing in the morning to finish the repairs.

We will be upgrading the software version on equipment across the network, so some areas will experience a temporary loss of connection for a few minutes as the updates roll out. We expect the overall maintenance period to span from Midnight until 3 AM, although each affected customer should only experience a disconnect for a few minutes.
